Blue Pearl Granite Kits. Each box contains 2 pieces that are 18" x 31" x 1/2" thick with all four edges polished. Each box is 7.75 Square Feet of granite. 

 

These versatile granite pieces are ideal for cost effective granite countertops at a fraction of the price.

 

Here is how it works> Typical cabinets are 24" wide, so the granite countertops are usually 25" wide to allow for an overhang of 1". In this example,  the 31" pieces would be cut down to 18" x 25" pieces, which would leave pieces that are 6" x 18" that can be used as a backsplash as is, or cut down to a smaller sized backsplash (such as a 4" high splash). Since all four sides of every piece are polished, there is not need to polish on site. Simply cut where the granite will not be exposed on the edge (i.e. the back of the countertops that goes against the wall, or the bottom of the backsplash that sits on the countertop...). It is possible to install over plywood or existing laminate tops. Please view additional images for additional details.

 

A tile saw that cuts 18" tiles is the primary tool needed to install these tops. If you don't have one, you can rent one at your local tool rental business.
